I agree, but how many chromenook users change for another search engine ?

well, you do have that choice if you are concerned about google privacy
If you mainly do websurfing, social sites, emailing, simple documents, etc, chromebooks are less demanding and less complicated compared to a windows laptop. My HP chromebook runs for 10 hours on one battery charge and weighs just 3 lbs with a 14 inch screen.

Yes, to each their own (choices).
Chromebook is easy to use, but I do prefer "common" laptop as it is according to me the only way to learn computing and how to manage bugs.

If you like to manage bugs and deal with viruses, a windows laptop is a good choice.
There's a reason most schools recommend chromebooks for online classes.

There is also another possibility : the BIOS/UEFI (mother board) battery. This battery is supposed to last several years but....
You could replace it then see what happens.
