Hello,

I had gone hiking about 6 months back in Maharashtra, India, and found some small fries in a waterfall and promptly got them for my fish tank at home.

Now, after having grown, they are looking and behaving differently from the locally found wild guppies which I thought they were.

They have 6 fins facing downwards on their bodies, with a shark like fin at the top. They generally "sit" on rocks and swim in a vertical manner, also keep cleaning moss from beneath the rocks in the tank.

I've attached some pictures for reference.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks :D

Thanks for the link :D

They look more similar to http://www.fishbase.us/summary/54956 after looking at them again.

Seem be found mainly in China :p

Researching on how they behave, their requirements and type of food, they don't seem to touch any of the standard fish food

I cant really find any helpful links regarding their behavior or reproduction or food requirements.

They are currently housed with Mollies, Tetras and Sword Tails. From my observation so far, bottom dwelling fish, always on the rocks - must be since they are found in rivers. Low interaction with any other fish. And hardly ever come to the surface to eat, they will scour for left overs or algae.
Also spend a lot of time nibbling on leaves of the live plants I have.

Also, I don't know how to differentiate between male and female, I have two of them, and both look quite similar.
