had a fry tank set up. did daily water changes. everything was ok but then i noticed a dead fry tested water and ammonia spike and ph was at 6 not good i then lost about 7 fry so i took them all out and put them in a trap in my sump tank. just dont understand why i got a ammonia spike and why ph dropped. but im now worried with them being in my main tank that i may get ammonia spike. so i dont no what to do

How old/big are your fry? If they are tiny they shouldn't add much at all to your bio load of a cycled tank.

Was your fry tank cycled before adding your fry? Could be part of a cycling tank to spike so high.

Yer everything was cycled and everything thing was fine. But now I have ammonia in my main tank. Fry are tiny

Have you done a recent water change to both tanks? Maybe test your tap water before adding it to your tank... sometimes works outside can affect the water quality coming through your taps.

Maybe someone else has some other ideas, doesn't sound like your fry should be the cause.
