i have my 95 litre tank running with a interpet PF1 and a fluval 3plus, and they dont seem to be doing the job to be honest, the pf1 clogs up so easily and the 3plus seems to either run at full force, or not run at all!

so, does anyone have some good ideas for a external filter? i'm thinking fluval/tetratec (not the flu FX5, or G series though) quite like the look of the _06 series from fluval and the EX on tetratec, possibly the ex700? any other manufacturers are welcome! also, if you have any suggestions about filters to steer clear of i'm open to hear them!

price isnt a problem... just means i have to save up for longer, so dont worry

yeah, i did XD

at current mint, i'm running with 1080 L/H anyway... EX1200? bit bigger and would give about the same flow when clogged anyway...

thats cheap O_O okiee!!! i have to save up abit... i'll get it so theres about 140 in my account before i buy it so i'm not left skint... what does the thing come with?

I swapped an fx5 for 2 ex1200's on my rio 400 and I love em :) minnnt is correct, They are £89 although I got mine from aquatic warehouse and got them for £169 for the 2 (5% off 1st order) and that included delivery and I got £5.40 off my second order :)

sweeeeeeeet XD i'll only be needing one though... unless i want to blast my fish to mexico

could i have some specs on the can? like media etc?

coolies :D i wont be using the carbon methinks... bioballs are plastic arent they? i'lll probably use more ceramic instead of them then

To be fair I'm useless when it comes to media lol i know you have carbon on top, then 2 sponges, than a single sponge and bio balls and then another single sponge and ceramic rings on the bottom (think that's what they are called) so 4 trays in total.

They filter 1200 lph (without media) and around 940 when full of media. They are rated for tanks of up to 500 litres.

I don't use the spray bars with mine, just the elbow as it gives a bit extra flow

TetraTEC state that their ceramic rings are for water disruption and that the bio balls are where the bacteria lives. :good:

Remove the carbon, but leave the rest as it is.
