Hello,

I've decided to start over with my breeding attempts. I have the chosen male; he is a copper plakat. Absolutely stunning. But I can't decide to breed him with my marble crowntail (I really want the marbling). Or to breed him with my blue orchid plakat female (I really love plakats).

So, I want EVERYONE'S opinion, plakatXplakat or plakatXcrownie?

im assuming the plakat is the one in ur sig and the plkat female is the dark one


if so it better for the babies.

plakat to plakat, hands down. You'll get all plakats as the outcome. With plakat to crowntail you'll get messed up crowns and combs that need to be worked out in the next generation. With any luck you'll get one or two perfect fish out of them. Whereas with pkXpk you'll know what to expect. Plus, an added bonus, plakats don't get as nippy as longer finned bettas and you can put off jarring them longer.

The plakat male I'm talking about was actually the spawn brother to the one in my sig: Ula, but he looks just like him. The female is the black one in my sig. I guess she's more of a green than blue but it depends on the light.

Anyway! PlakatxPlakat it is! Course this will be a couple weeks away as I want to condition them very well. Thanks for the help!

I'm weighing the same problem. Do I breed my marble plakats or my marble crown tails?

Well I've looked twice now, nashnut, and thought and come back and looked again, as though I am editing an important paper. I am most struck by the coloring on the plakat female. Striking blood reds and great marbling. She's a wowser. I would go for breeding her fin colors and face marbling, assuming they are a healthy pair. I like both their faces. What about temperment and breeding behavior? Are those important?

I want to see what you can develop. Then I want one of the best--or a pair.
