hello friends,

I am new here I even do not know more about fishes but yes internet has given me more knowledge. please tell me friends which sort of fishes should i put in my 12 gallon tank as i own a sucker cat fish along with 2 swordtail fishes, 2 tiger barbs and 6 guppies less then 1.5 cm. please suggest me, Is my combination is right? as no body is harming one another and all are happily living together and also suggest me which plants should i put in my tank as i even do not have a hiding space for sucker cat fish she hides besides the filter along with stones....

waiting for all your reply as i have to take action till Sunday...as my weekend overs i have to go to office...

thank you all for reading my request and understanding the help....

From trying to decipher what ever language you were trying to speak, it seems like your tank is fine. One concern is the "sucker catfish." I would assume your talking about a plecostomus species of catfish? If yes, and the coloration is a zigzag gray and black stripes or a black background with grey to brown spots, then prob have one of the many species that are called "common plecostomus." These grow far too big for 12G so just be wary. I would say return it as unless you plan on upgrading to a tank around 100G+ then you won't be able to house this fish for life.

yes you are right the sucker cat fish is the same one but i bought a little kid just 3 cm long,, i need your sugestions...

sorry sucker cat is 13 cm long and i also want to tell you that this Friday one of the yellow swordtail has given birth to 25 fryes and i separated them into a different bowl do it is right or i have to use net and put them in the tank along with other fishes... as bowl do not have any filter or plants....

help will be greatly appreciated

If you can separate the fry from the parents, they will be better in the main tank. That way the filter and the heater can help maintain the water for the fry. You do not say how long the 12 gallon has been set up. If it is a new tank, you will need to change part of the water every day or two. The new water you put in should be the same temperature as the tank and should be dechlorinated before you put it in. Change at least 4 gallons every 2 days for the next few weeks until you get the chance to read how to do a cycle and how to test your water. Once you start testing, you can adjust the water changes based on what the tests tell you.

thank you for replying

i will do so i also like to know that i am having a sucker cat fish of chocolate color and she is 13 cm long how ever i bought chips food for her but when i put it in the tank she tryies to suck it however after some time she releases to take a breadth (i think so) and at that point of time other fishes take that chip and start eating and she do not get the chance to eat it....
