I NEED HELP.......I have 3 tanks Tank #1 is a nicely stocked 55 gal Mbuna tank with different "colored" African zebras red, pearl,OB,etc) and hongi and rustiies. All are in the 2 to 3 inch size range.
Tank @2 and #3 are my questions.
In tank #2 a 20 gal high I only have a good sized SA Angel with a bushy nose pleco. I would hesitate to put anything else in there, since the angel would probably kill any smaller angels that I put in there or anything else.
In tank #3, a 55 gal I have a single Malawi eye biter (approx 3 1/2 inches) a fem red empress that is being overstressed by the eye biter, 2 clown loaches, and Synodontis(catyfish).
At this time, in my mind tanks 2 & 3 are not being used properly.
QUESTION 1 Can the eye biter in tank #3 be SAFELY put into tank #1 without destroying the others ?
QUESTION 2 If so I would transfer the large Angel from the 20 gal to the 55 gal and add another 5 or 6 younger, smaller angels plus some other type fish(rams ?) to complement the angels and even some guppies or the like to offer good quality live food
QUESTION 3 At this point I could put the eyebiter in the empty 20 gal high tank

Thanks for reading this and hopefully for any help and input that you offer

Cant answer question 1 or 3 as its an african cichlid and I know nothing about them, for compabiblity of those, try the african cichlids section above the NW section :good:

The angel should be a in a large tank anyway, so putting him in the 55g (without the african cichlid currently in there) would be a good idea, how large is he? Putting smaller angels in may not be a good idea, however if you put them in 1st, allow them to settle, then add him if he is bigger should be ok as he wont have time to establish a territory. 5/6 angels in a 55g is ok, but I wouldnt add anymore cichlids but maybe some larger dithers such as larger tetras, danios maybe, but not guppies or anything small as they will be seen as food and live feeders are not the best source of food for them.

Yeah funny how most of us NW cichlid owners know nothing about africans. I know I don't. They are cichlids yet so very different. Sorry we can't help but it agree you are not useing the tanks in the best way.
