Need Help Urgently!

okay everytime i do a water change i unplug the filter as i know you're not supposed to have it on out of the water so i do and now when ive gone to plug it back in it just won't work!!!

help please its a fluval 3+ and i haven't taken it apart to clean as i did that yesterday and its worked since then

any insight to what could be wrong???

mine does it it needs a new impellor (so does mine lol) i just take the filter media case off and just give the impellor a little tap or just give the whole thing a little knock that normally wakes it up lol. Most good lfs sell parts for them and they are not very much for impellors i think ive piad a £5r at the most in the past

take it apart and give it a good clean and inspect the impellor for wear and tear im pretty sure it will be that as mine is the same

have you checked to see if it is clogged ? is the mains on? when you switch it on can you hear anything?

it may be the impeller as i sort of knocked it [in a fit of rage lol] and lo and behold it worked, ill have to see if they have any at work

but for responses sake it wasn't clogged the mains was on as my other filter worked and i couldn't hear anything

I really dont know what went on, as this happened yesterday aswell and my other filter just stopped working and i went into mass panic then after a lot of faffing it came on then my other did it oooo the stresses of fish keeping

at least everything is working...well bar my heater but thats a different story...

My ancient fluvals used to do that a lot a good shake usually sorted it - never did get an impeller - upgraded to an external instead.

The first time my filter did not turn back on I freaked out too. Seems every time it has to do with the magnet being all slimmy and gross. Everytime I clean the magnet off it works great.
