Hello,

I recently started doing low light plants in some of my small tanks so I decided to take the leap with my new 120g and plant it as well, knowing it would be a bigger challenge...

Well I had low light but then I bought Some high light plants and realized I wanted to take the next step up.

Now I don't have CO2 nor do I want to get into that yet... But I was hoping there was a medium I could step to after low light?

5ft 120g with two 4ft sun blaster T5HO lights (54w each) and they both have reflectors... They're a single bulb fixture so I have two bulbs.

1 inch - 1 1/2 inch of sand. I keep the lights on 6-8 hours a day.

I only have a mix of Anubias and crypts in there, as well as some micro sword which is very pathetic looking and has succumbed to algae and a dying dwarf sag.

What can I do to make this a better planted tank?

Bump.

I recently got clay at a local lake. Is it worth draining my tank, ripping out the plants, bucketing my fish etc to have a base layer of clay?
