I have a Torpedo Barb ( Acrossocheilus Fasciatus ), I got one, as the seller said good in singles or a group… mine is not in full color yet, but is large, so I assume an adolescent… mine is not “mean” but a little aggressive with the mascaras… wondering if adding a second, might give it a buddy, and maybe cut down on the aggression, or if adding a second, might give me 2 fish I end up having to rehome???

Adding a second torpedo will escalate conflict between the two torpedo while releasing it on the other fish.

If the tank is large enough and has enough cover for them to have a DMZ you could get along with it.

Barbs are jerk and the greater number disperse aggression. they have no buddies, just competitors.

They're very hierarchical shoalers, and you know what that means - large groups or nothing. Adding one does nothing. Adding 7 or 8 might do a lot.

I haven't kept that species though.
