Need Advice W/ Filter

Well i got this product (http/www.petco.com/product/12460/Tetra-Whisper-Internal-Power-Filters.aspx) at my lfs and i was just wondering if anyone knew if it wud work with a sand substrate with cherry shrimp in it? thanks

it will be fine as long as it isn' so close to the sand that it starts sucking it up. I have used them in betta tanks with and substrate.
