Need A Fast Answer Please ! Ehime Piping On Fluval

Hi all i need a replacment pipe for my fluval 205 fast as i developed a leak in the pipe my fault i managed to put a hole in it but no shops hold replacment pipe only ehime pipes.

I would like to use ehime any how as the dam pipe is not ribbed like fluval but does any one know if they fit the fluval 205 need to know asap please as my filter currently not running and need to go get some pipe

Not an expert, however I would get some Fluval pipe, as it isn't worth the risk if the Eheim piping leaks.

Quickest i can get it is saturday and not having my filter running to then is just going to end really bad my tank is fully stocked and can not really have it running a cycle again.

So this is my only option really

yes it will fit you need the 12mm-16mm eheim pipe

If any one else ever interested the ehime pipes fits perfect and i also got another 70LPH throw flow so i am over the moon best £5 i have ever spend

Interesting to know that the Eheim pipes fit the Fluval, not something I've needed to find out before, but glad you had the desired outcome.

What do you mean by an 'another 70lph throw flow'?

Guessing because the eheim pipes are not ribbed there will be slightly more area for water to pass through, not sure how the op managed to measure an extra 70lph though lol, plus the filter wont pump the water faster than its designed to do anyway.

Sorry about the late reply was out.

Any how i put the out put off the filter into a bucket and let it run for 1 min i got 6 liters off water in that 1 min so i timed it by 60 to get 360 LPH rather bad on a 680 LPH filter ok i know i would never get that but dam that some drop off. after changing the pipes i ran the same test again and got 7.5 liters in 1 min so again timed by 60 to get 450 LPH meaning i got a extra 90 LPH flow through not 70 wow my maths stink lol. Any who it doing a better job and to me 450 LPH out off a filter that ment to be able to 680LPH is exceptable

That may possibly be because of dirty pipes rather than different pipes, you dont realise just how much performance you loose by debris building up inside the pipes. I cleaned my eheim pipes only after just 3 months of running and the difference afterwards was unbelievable.

How did you clean them? i always find it hard to get them clean?

The eheim flexible cleaning brushes, just get correct size, they come on a long wire which you feed through the pipes and pull the brush through, it pulls all the debris out with it Takes about 5 mins.

This one would do pretty much all sized pipes -> 9-25mm

Ive got a flurval 405 but i would think it would still work aslong as i got the right size one.

to be honest i dont know why fluval feel the need to have corrugated pipes it just complicates things for example you cant fit an external filter or UV sterilizer.
oh and they trap more detrus in the grooves i have the fx5 and after some research and help from a member on here i am soon changing over to 25mm eheim pipes so i can run a UV sterilizer

Kizno1, yes the brush should work fine, it is in no way designed specifically for eheim tubes really, just made by eheim so if your tubes' internal diameter is between 9-25mm then it will be fine.

Jacko, I dont know why they use ribbed piping either, cant seem to think of any advantages lol
