Have you done a water change on Tank 2 recently? I find it helps keep me sane if I try and keep the nitrite levels down so I can actually tell how much nitrite is processing. I'm on day 50 today and expecting my 0 on nitrite any day now!

couple of weeks ago. when we put down the new flooring after the flood.
the vials just go straight to purple in the bottom...every morning i think..yes...today could be the day!

I'd do a water change if I were you. As I said, it keeps me sane! I never have it go purple in the bottom because I try to change it often enough that the nitrite never goes far above 5ppm. It's probably cheating lol, but it's good to know exactly what's going on.
