Need 2 Large Fish - No More For 150 Litre Tank

Hi All,
 
Im after 2 large tropcial/coldwater fish for a empty cycled tank.
 
ive had platy/neons and gourami but they are so small.
 
I just want 2 of any species. prefer them to be large so they fill out the tank to its max.
 
i was originally thinking goldfish but they outgrow the tank.
 
** The tank is empty and my fishless cycle has completed - I just want 2 fish in the tank no more  - the largest specias possible to fit in a 40 gallon-

There's a whole lot of choice out there that meets your requirements! We could type out everything possible - but best to go along to your local fish shop, have a look at their livestock, and note down the names of any species that take your fancy, then come back here and we can advise on the suitability of your favourites.
 
As a guide, you may like bigger gouramis (up to 5-6 inches) or some smaller (but not quite dwarf) cichlids such as cupids or keyholes.
