Nano Tank

Hi all,
I already have my main tank up and running no problem, so I purchased some cherry shrimp to add to my aquarium, but without considering my angel fish or my pair of firemouths, so i need to put the shrimp in there own little tank. So what is the best Nano tank under the size of a 1foot cube tank I would prefer if the filtration was built in as i feel it leaves a better looking tank. Also could i keep a betta pair in the nano tank?

Firstly I would seriously recommend against keeping a pair of Betta`s together in any tank, the aggression that can be displayed can be deadly to one or the other. Some people do keep a sorority of females and occasionally put a male and female together but once the 'business' has been done they have to be seperated again.

Secondly, a lot of people seem to be getting into keeping shrimps, myself included and these Arcadia tanks are really appropriate for them:

You may be able to find one cheaper at your local pet supplies shop, but I know the tanks that are specifically labelled as 'Nano' tanks are usually more expensive than the Arcadia one at a lot of the lfs`.

I understand about the bettas i would remove the female most of the time, I have a uncle that used to breed them. i was just wondering size wise.

I have noticed those tanks, i know somebody on here is selling one i was interested, only thing that put me off was no inbuilt filter, but i suppose not may come with that other than the EDGE.

Size wise they are big enough to hold a single Betta no problem and you`re aware of the score with keeping a pair.

I have one of those tanks myself and would personally say it`s actually easier to have a separate internal filter rather then a built in one. It`s personal choice really I guess but I would definitely recommend the tanks

How about something like this?

Thats my nano at work. Shrimp/planted, and currently has an accidental rainbow fish fry in there!

Its a cubed vase, 8 litres in size. (cheap from ebay) a small hob filter from HK with no heater, but u could easily use a cheap nano heater and the light is a hagen thing I think...

Hob filters are great, un-obtrusive and easy to maintain. Look great in a planted nano. Hide the intake behind a bit of scenery, and you are laughing
