I am trying to figure out what type exactly these tin foil barbs are. The pics on the net look different than mine. Mine seem longer and slimmer. Pics on the net look closer to the silver dollar. I am wondering because I want to know how big they are going to get. I thought maybe red tail ? Still pics don't match. There are no black lines on their fins. Just red and almost translucent dorsal fin.

You can't tell from the pics but they have a square snout. They look like bulldogs to me...lol

Def. dont look like silver dollars because of body shape. The are a lot like tinfoils, but maybe juvenile colouration the dark areas you suggest may come as the fish mature. Maybe another member will be able to confirm this. That said, adult Tinfoils are a pretty big fish.

Thanks y'all. I have seen on the net anywhere from 7" to 14". I hope they don't get 14" !!! These are crazy fish. That is a wafer they stole from my catfish. They are ravenous eaters and swim very fast. They aren't bright either. One got his head stuck in a small hole in a log and just kept trying to push forward. I didn't think fish got stuck..LOL
