Talking about stems... yes... roots will appear on the stems, & they will propogate like that.....

The 'tendrils' on the stems are root like and can be used as roots if the plant is chopped but to propogate most stem it is via cuttings. These tendrils will often grow on the older sections of the stem and gather in nutrient from the water column just as roots below the water column would.
