Name Of Fish Food

I was at my lfs and they had stick on sandy tablets in the tank. I asked about them and he said they are good for the fish they was in a orange bottle, does any one know what they are and are they worth the £5 price tag.

Depends, if you were in P@H, their own brand are in orange bottles and are naff.

You want JBL Novotabs... best ones out there, need far less of them too!!

No it wasn't that shop and it wasn't an own branded product. I will check next time I am their.

JBL NovoTabs are in a yellow pot, about £6.50 or so for a smallish pot but lasts ages... its high in protein and i find are fantastic for L number plecs that prefer a higher protein diet (to algae wafers) and loaches and cories but also whack em on the glass and EVERYTHING will love them!

There is also JBL NoveFect which is a slighly more algae based tablet so maybe for livebearers and bristlenose etc... a better choice!

I personally dont like these types of food as imo are not that great for fish pollute the water and generally make a mess, never liked them.

I have JBL novotabs and like them as it allows you to see the fish come out and feed and they all love it! But you quite often get left with some residue on the tank which washes off after about an hour I guess. The others that are available are Sera O-Nip which are very similar to the JBL ones.

My Butterfly hillstream loaches love eating the JBL tabs. They scuttle around the glass in ever smaller circles then bully their way past the Gourami's and start nibbling at the edges. Very cute to watch. Also as said they are great to just drop to the bottom for my Corydoras and Kribs. Apart from brine shrimp / bloodworm, these are my favourite kind of food to feed my little fellows.
