Name For Endler Buisness

why not try googling endlers and see what comes up, you can get soem ideas and see what's taken already.

Dont take offense but making a buisness out of a trio of endlers isnt going to happen Lol.

You will be lucky to get 20 fry a month with 2 females. You will need at least 3 tanks. Breeding tank, fry raising tank, and a sales tank to get maximum growth out of your fish.

Not sure what the going rate is these days but I paid £2 each for mine. So thats around £40 a month for a trio. Then take into account the money for food, water conditioner, electricty you wont have much to show for your hard work.

Sorry but im just being realistic. By all means breed these lovely fish but dont expect to make much money from them.

If you have the room invest in a group of say 10 females and 3 males. This WILL make you a little profit if thats what your after of course.

Probably best to keep it nice and simple with the name, PureBreedEndlers sounds better than PureBredEndlers, the second one sounds like they are bred purely but may not be pure themselves... (just a bit confusing). Not guru. That would put me off.

I think that more importantly you should consider how you're going to market the site. Putting up an ad in the 'buy and sell' section of this website might be a good way to start, as well as informing the people at EndlersRUs. Otherwise you'll be producing fish each month but will have no buyers.

You're also going to want the fry to grow up as fast as possible so you can send them ASAP. I'd suggest investing in a python so you can do daily water changes. The more 'fresh' water the fish get the faster they grow, irrespective of the size of the tank they're in (nb - this conclusion was reached with discus fry, but I'm pretty sure it will be the same with endlers).

it is pretty much the same with endlers, growth rate and colour development does improve with regular water changes.

PureBreedEndlers sounds much better in my opinion. Short but sweet.

If you are going to make a website for a business, its worth putting in a bit of time and effort. Something I picked up on a few web site design courses, was how a business site needs to be viewed by everyone. By this I mean, If someone is colour blind, they will not see Yellow/Orange/Green/Grey, as well as many other colours. Having a dark back ground (lets say blue) with a bright text (lets say yellow) can cause headaches and sore eyes. So dont jump in and pick your fave colours and put them up. Do a bit of research. Look around on a few websites, making notes of what you like/disslike and what a potential customer would be looking at. Would they want to see a casino advert on your website for example? You might ask why Id bother mentioning something like that but youll be suprised what you see and where. Make sure everything is very simple to use. Do a sort of trial page. Ask your mum, brothers and sisters to try and use the site, you know if they cant, then chances are that your customers may have trouble too. No flashy banners and no pictures that will take 5 minutes to load. Better to have one or two small pictures than one huge one.

Meh, bit of an essay sorry lol. Just thought Id add in some helpful tips, or not so helpful if youve already thought of the above. Not trying to diss your ability to make a website lol.

Good luck with it, let us know how it goes

I read about all that the other day, well some of it, the hosting I have doesn't have any adverts as i'm sort of paying for it by visiting their forum and posting regularly, but i'll have to choose a domain wisely, but the colourblind thing was very interesting, and i'd never thought about that before.
Thanks for your input! And i've already request PureBredEndlers, i'll just PM him and ask him to change it.

Why not just PureEndlers? It's simpler and implies that you breed purebreds and only endlers.

Is it a site or a local buisness?

Edit: Dumb question. How much will you be selling them for?

I've got PureBreedEndlers now and i'm alright with that, thanks for the input though. Well when it starts it will be local, but I may, and probably will end up posting them within the UK. I'm not sure on the prices yet, but probably around £2 - £2.50, maybe more, but discount will be giving depending on how many are bought.

You'll also need to find out about postage. How much will it cost? Do you know how to post fish? How much extra will heating pads be in the winter? Where can you get a supply of postage materials from?

True, but these are the things i'm going to think about in the future. I've never actually seen any guides or advice for posting fish, so i'll have to look about.

Heres is how I pack fish:

Polystrine box.
Double bag your fish.
Wrap the bag in bubble wrap, keeps the heat in a little better.
Then added loosely scrunched up newspaper wround the side to make sure bag doesnt move too much in transit.
Mark the box as "fragile" "live" "handle with care" signs.

Send by couriour is best but you can send with next day delivery via royal mail.

To send out fish depends alot on weight of water. Via Royal Mail anything from £6 - 15 via courier will depend on who you use.

I DONT RECONMEND SENDING OUT FISH IN THE WINTER unless you are experienced.

I would do a few tests before sending out to other people. Send a box of fish to YOURSELF and see how they are when they reach you. From the test you will know if it was packed well enough or if anything needs changing.

I would reconmend to keep from dirty water in the bag is not to feed your fish for 2 days before they are sent out and to not pack more than 5 fish per bag.

Lastly, use the LONGEST bags you can find. Fill so its 3x the height of your fish to make sure they have lots of oxygen in the bag.

Good luck with your venture.

Thanks alot for that Joel, what would I put the box in? Just wrap it in brown paper or something? And how would I keep the lid on the poly box?
