Just wondering, are there any red tetras/shoaling fish that can go in my community tank with a male betta? My tank lacks some red, and I really want a shoal of fish to go in there... I looked at red phantom tetras, but apparently they are terrible fin nippers? What about rosy barbs? any ideas much appreciated, thanks.

Some chilli rasboras would look very nice.

got it before me lol yh they are brill tankmates for bettas and i belive that cherry barbs are suitible too and btw the embers are an orangey red with a lighter belly :good: i also agree with chilli rasoboras and another choice if you dont mind it a bit differnt is boras naevus which are a whiteish colour with red tiped fins and a yellow patch on the head but im not good a describing fish so google it. and one last thing they are a new import so might be hard to find.

gl :good:

Wow they are very pretty! Pets at home are having a big "fish event" thing on the 3rd of april, everyone gets 10% off everything! I'm going to go and see if they have any :shifty: :hey:

erm im sorry but i think that is waht i have written fishy friend
you have written Boras naevus but the proper term is boraras naevus the reasing why the OP couldn't find pics is becuase you entered an incorrect scientific name

in this pic you cant really see the faded yellow patch on the head but if you see it i think youll like it
fishy friend ah ok i thought you ment the last part naevus lol
