Fish Fanatic
So I have this mini tank (roughly 7litres) I use as a hospital tank. At the moment it's home to my giant ramshorns as they are constantly laying eggs and I have far too much money in plants in my main tank for those to hatch and devour them!!
Any how.... I added in a slice or courgette for them a couple of days ago (they love carrot and cucumber) but the didn't seem too interested so yesterday morning I went to take it out when I spied a tiny little baby fish!!
There has been no fish in that tank for weeks apart from two male guppies!
What the...!!!
Now the only thing I can imagine this little fish being is a killiefish.
As a few may already know my dad had a go at hatching and growing killies and did so quite successfully, that was u till they went mad and started attacking other fish.
I got the little tank off my dad (he used it as a snail tank) to put my male guppies in to recover from their killie ordeal and to let their fins grow back. My dad is unsure whether he threw the killie egg peat out or if some could of made it's way into the little tank or not.
Only one way to find out!!
I've been feeding them baby brine shrimp and some liquifry so will let you know how we get on!
Unfortunately if they are killiefish (almost certain they are, what else can they be!) I will have to take them to my LFS to be rehomed as I've learned, unfortunately the hard way, they aren't compatible with my tank
