So I have this mini tank (roughly 7litres) I use as a hospital tank. At the moment it's home to my giant ramshorns as they are constantly laying eggs and I have far too much money in plants in my main tank for those to hatch and devour them!!

Any how.... I added in a slice or courgette for them a couple of days ago (they love carrot and cucumber) but the didn't seem too interested so yesterday morning I went to take it out when I spied a tiny little baby fish!!

There has been no fish in that tank for weeks apart from two male guppies!

What the...!!!

Now the only thing I can imagine this little fish being is a killiefish.

As a few may already know my dad had a go at hatching and growing killies and did so quite successfully, that was u till they went mad and started attacking other fish.

I got the little tank off my dad (he used it as a snail tank) to put my male guppies in to recover from their killie ordeal and to let their fins grow back. My dad is unsure whether he threw the killie egg peat out or if some could of made it's way into the little tank or not.

Only one way to find out!!

I've been feeding them baby brine shrimp and some liquifry so will let you know how we get on!

Unfortunately if they are killiefish (almost certain they are, what else can they be!) I will have to take them to my LFS to be rehomed as I've learned, unfortunately the hard way, they aren't compatible with my tank :(

Any chance of a picture?

I just bought a super deformed killie a few days ago not knowing what he was. He's turned out to be a gentle giant, though, I've read other posts that they can change later.
In an ideal world your killies will be well behaved dolls so you can keep them :)
We can wish right?

Such a cool story finding them in there. Reminds me of the story when I went to change the bedding in the cage of our two male hamsters and found 10 tiny hairless inch long babies hidden in some bedding. :)

Oh wow - love surprise fish ☺

That's the little tank, please forgive the little ornaments, my two year old has a slight obsession with them when we go to my LFS so to save my tank they get dumped in the snails tank haha, I am trying to get some of the little fish, I've just noticed a couple more but they are super tiny and doubt I'll get a pic of those...

The little orange thing towards the right next to the black filter? I don't know what I'm looking for :)

OK here he is, he's growing by the second!

That was a snail AmtotheBurr lol I have some tadpole, red ramshorns and giant ramshorns in there too

You couldn't really see him on the first uploads but he was being a show off before! He usually just darts away and hides in the plant, perhaps he thought I was gonna feed him lol

OK so there are definitely at least 4 little guys in there... I sat like a crazy stalker lady last night after putting some BBS I'm there and counted 4, 2 bigger yellow looking ones and 2 super tiny ones.

Maybe more but for sure there's 4!

Hahahaha. I just stared at that photos for longer than I'll admit looking for a fish. It was like a super complex "where's waldo" game. I found him! Finally! I might have started left to right and scanned every single rock...and he happened to be at the veryyyyyy end...but the point is I found waldo!
They're adorable
