Mysterious White Eel

its a beautiful looking eel, my first thought was an albino gymothorax tile but the pictures too far away, can you get a close up of its head?

Nelly, that's it!!! Well done mate!!! The photo is of the tank it lived in for just over a year. It's new tankmates include, 20" green asian arrowana, 22" giant albino gourami, 3ft tyre track eel, 20" tsn x rtc, 19" ornate birchir, 18" tsn, 18" lima sn, 16" tiger oscar, a shoal of 4 very large silver dollars and a couple of smaller fish......

So it's a very rare white eel from the Japanese waters? The previous owner was feeding it whitebait, but I feed my fish with a variety of foods such as, prawns, whitebait, mussels, live mealworm, locusts, crickets, peas and lettuce (for g gourami), hikari gold pellets, etc etc...

I really appreciate everyone's responses and efforts into helping me establish what this strange but beautiful creature is!!

yeah, he was, unfortunately he is now dead. Absolutely gutted. Drove 400 miles to get him and paid nearly £100 for him and within 2 weeks......... #41####....

maybe if you knew what you were buying, then you would know how to look after it, and maybe it wouldnt be dead?!
Just my opinion.

I wouldnt have driven 400 miles to pick up a stranger.
Unless i was getting paid for it.

I didn't mind the travelling as it was such a rare find! I've travelled as far as London from Glasgow to collect fish! It wouldn't have made any difference if I had known what it was as the previous owner was feeding it on the same food I feed my fish. It didn't eat in the 10 days or so I had it, which isn't unusual as it can take a while for fish to settle in new surroundings, it was obviously its tankmates that it didn't get on with.

How on earth would it have not made a difference if you had known what it was. YOU obviosly have not looked after it propperly and this is why it has died. If you had known what it was, YOu WOULD have known. What tank conditions it should have, What diet. What tank mates, so on so on. This way it could have been in the propper envoironment with a decent life. Instead you bunged it into a tank, wich was blatently too small for it. And fed it on what "The previous owner" Who didnt have a clue aswell told you too.

DO you say the same for LFS's that give bad advice.

God how people anger me sometimes.

You should not have gone and bought it end of. You didnt have a clue what it was or how too care for it. And how did you know it was a "Rare" find if you didnt know what it was.

Sort it out. Please dont make anymore Rash purchases.
