Mysterious Disease

I'll link from the betta area to this too....

I have had 4 female bettas die in the last month from the same mysterious symptoms. Only the females though the males are fine.

They satrt off with them going off their food, then they just sort of gradually go stiff. Like they can't move. if the water around them moves they just float around with it compleatley listless and will let it pull them underwater and spin them around upside down. They are all in different tanks, and the perameters are all fine.

Please some one help I don't know really what I can do......

Sounds like swim bladder or they were egg bound, did they blow up like a ballon.

No nada not a thing.

It's not swimbladder that I know. They became almost like paralysed. If I had to liken it to anything in humans it would be tetanus. The only things moving being the mouth.

I'm from doncaster as well, did you get them all from the same place, or were they all the same family as though it was a genetic thing.

The original deaths were all from the same shop, (a place where i really should know better) but not the same family. The last on has been one of my original females from a breeder. I can't understand it but all my other females seem fine now......
