my water smell does your is this normal

hi for past cpl days my tank water been smelling but getting worse

but saying worse it actualy doesnt smell bad its like fresh dirt its weord kinda fresh smelling

is this bad normal (IS MY TANK MATURING AND FINALLY MATURED)

i dont think it can smell more then wot it does its been getting fresher and fresher past few days


is my water dirt i did a water change and still smell is this normal ??

There is an aquarium smell. Not at all unpleasant, and yes, I suppose somewhat "earthy".

I just said almost the exact same thing in another thread, Lateral Line. I kind of like the smell ... it's wholesome and smells kind of like wet earth to me. My sister in law turns up her nose if she stops by when I'm cleaning filter media, though. She says it stinks.

I think a good tank smells kind of earthy, like being in a nice forest almost (if you have ever been in the wild you probably know what I mean). Some tanks (like one at a local pet store near me) have a nasty smell, quite gross and thats a bad sign I am sure.

Checking the levels of ammonia and nitrite might be a good idea, just to make sure.

thanks guppy yea i no wot ya mean been to many of forest

and i was a gardener for a yr in a nursery

yea i was just worried as its water but smells like fresh earth

im so happy that seems every thing is perfect
water seems fine heat ph nitrite

and fish all seem happy
