Not necessarily, many members have had that combination of fish and had success. Like me, I has a very similar stocking list in my old 350L tank in 1999, I think it was. They all got on very well. And even currently I have Angels with Neons with no problems.

The cockatoo cichlid (Apistogramma cacatuoides) isn't an aggressive cichlid like rift valley cichlids so they will be fine with the neons, its the angels that could be a problem. I will remove the neons anyway and remove 3 angels when they get bigger as there only around 2inch at the moment
