My Tropical Tank

Had my tank setup now for about 1 month now (its 200L)and ive introduced fish, plants and have a good turnover with my filtration. Everything is going good.Weekly water changes etc..

Currently have:
20 Neons tetra's
5 Angles
2 Mikrogeophagus ramirezi (German blue rams)
2 Apistogramma cacatuoides (cockatoo cichlids)
2 Goramis

I want to add more fish (if possible) would it be ok to add more?

Neon tetras are angel fish's natural diet in the wild. They should will get eaten!

Ok so the neons may have to go no biggy, but why do so many people have them together?

If and when the angels started pairing,its not uncommon for fighting between the males to occur leading to death in some cases and has mentioned, neons to start disappearing by the angels...

What type of gouramis do you have?

i kept neons and large altum and pinoy ghost angles togeter for years.. no problams. not a single neon got eaten.



(how ever... 15 wild cardinals gone 'missing' in few minutes after drop in.... )

You are overstocked, would be a bad idea to add more fish

If the neons are going to get eaten i will get rid of them. As well as only having 2 angle's eventually, but i cant honestly see how im over stocked looking at the majority of peoples aquariums.

You have 5 Angelfish which will get pretty big, you probably have too many for your tank size. Plus you also have a host of other cichlids which all need large areas of territory. TBH you should focus on your tank and listen to our advise rather than focus on other overstocked tanks. Those with overstocked tanks will get told they are overstocked by members on here...many members do not manage to escape from this...

Yes,but as i say i will only have 2 angles as they grow, the rams have their own territory aswell as the cockatoo Cichlids. As long as my fish look great my water is good and the fish have plenty of space to move around i think everything is ok. If the neons are gone and there are only 2 angel fish that makes 8 fish in 200litres of water, i have around 75 WC Malawis in my 6ft set-up and some may say that's overstocked but its a very active and a well established set-up and malawis do well in an overstocked tank.I know its nothing like a community set-up but I know 8 fish in 200L isn't going to cause problems if I add more fish. I think its all personal choice, as long as you don't go over the top and abuse the hobby by making your fish unhappy in a stupidly small aquarium or a bad environment (bad water conditions, overtsocked etc..)

Well...why not get rid of the fish you want to get rid of first then add the fish you want to add, rather than adding more fishes while your tank is overstocked. Nothing to do with your tanks water or anything, its just a better way of doing things.

Mine to are young aswell, as they grow i will thin them out.
