wahoo, now the official owner of a betta.

i bought a beautiful veiltail betta, he is red with some blue iradescent scales, im now acclimatising him as i type, he is a lively fellow.
i shall get pics on soon. :hyper:

He's lovely :) . Best to add a few bunches of plants for him to rest on and hide in though. It looks a little bare in there at the moment! Cabomba is a great choice, and Aponogentons are also very good.
 
i will pick up some plants tommorow. could you clarify what tail type he is? im thinking VT/ST cross or a vieltail / spadetail cross.

is it true that bettas sleep? what other things could he rest on besides plants?
 
I'm not certain on tail type so I won't give you a definite answer. I reckon he may be a cross of some sort as his tail doesn't seem quite droopy enough to be a pure veiltail.

SMOOTH ornaments or bogwood would be fine for him to rest on, as are large smooth rocks ( no slate or tufa rock ect , too sharp ). As long as there are no sharp or jagged bits he can catch his tail on it should be fine.
