My Tank Overstocked?

hi fish forums. My question is if my 55 gallon tank is oversstocked. Right now i have:
firemouth x1
blue acara x1
convict x1
tiger barb x4
Im planning to add 4 more tiger barbs a small pleco and another firemotuh because there my favourite. PLs tell me if my setup is overstocked and if it is what i could do to make it better. Thank you if you responded.

Hi yeah that sounds pretty good apart from adding the firemouth because if you have a male and then add a female they could easily breed and cause major issues for other fish also adding an other male to that tank could cause issues. If it were me I would stick to adding more tigers like up them to 10 and then add a small plec like you said like a bristlenose or some kind of peckoltia

Awsome thanks for the help. I have another question to ask. My firemouth has been chasing my convict non stop for a while. I went to big als and asked them what to do. They said i could exchange him for 2 fire mouths that are the same size and have livd in the same tank. Do you think this trade is good for my tank or is the extra firemouth gonna cause harm to my other fish?

I would either leave it as is or rehome the FM or the con. But as you add more tigerbarbs this aggression might go down. Also an other good way of "re setting" the aggro order is to take all the cichlids out bag them separatley like at the shops then put them in float then rearrange all the tank completely and let them back into the tank about a half hour after each other with the most peaceful first and the most agressive last and it should change things a bit if you do this at the same time as adding more tiger barbs the cichlids will be to bothered with finding their new teritories and the new dither fish they might just ignore each other.
