Hey all, here is my 17 gal tropical tank. It's not a great pic, but it's better than nothing.

I have a piece of bogwood in the middle, used as a cave by my apisto's

Also a couple of teracotta flower pots as caves add hiding places for my fish.

Plant wise i have straight vallis mainly, a plant with red leaves at the back and some java fern. They're not doing that well as i only have a few white led lights round the tank until i get (or make) a proper hood to put some tubes in.

My fish are in my sig.

Hope you like it.

Ok, got my lights sorted and here it is. Unfortunately two of the new plants that i added have gone. The grass at the front just disappeared. And the red plant at the back disintegrated! But here it is!

My next job is to make a home made CO2 injection system and hopefully the plants will do even better!!!

Let me know what you think.

luv the plants and wood, but the pots(not natural ) :good: and the gravel im not to fond of, some gray sand or white would be better

I know the pot's aren't natural, but you never know, you might find some on a river bed, plus it adds interest and more hiding places for the fish. The last thing i would change is the substrate, unless i was starting again. I might try sand next time.

I had thought some more wood up the back of the tank. add a bit of height, but it's not so easy now with the tenants in place!

i LOVE your apistos

i cant believe they are ok with guppys

my apisto would have ripped them in half

yeah the plants that died need good lighing... especialy the red plants

but it seems like your amazon sword and the vallis are doing great

.... and it looks like you have a snail problem

alittle is ok.. but careful not to let things get out of control

(my apisto wont let hichiking snails live for even a day)

Wow, I think it's very pretty. :D I wouldn't change anything except maybe add a few more plants.

Well as soon as i get my CO2 working i'll be adding some more plants.

Going home made and haven't quite got the mixture right yet, got a Pepsi MAX bottle with some CO2 home brew in it, but not much if any CO2 being produced yet. Have to try again tomorrow if i get no results by then.

I am also on a major mission to remove as many snails as possible. It's becoming an infestation now, not just a nusiance! Removed 30 odd from my tank today with my weekly maintainance, and i bet i'll see as many tomorrow morning again!

Thanks for the feedback anyway!

Right BIG change this week!

Got my behind into gear and did some much needed aquascaping.

Moved the bogwood and ornaments about at the weekend, and got some more plants today.

Bacopa Caroliniana

I know the bacopa is planted behind the log at the moment, but when it's grown more, it should reach the top of the tank,

Ok, even more pics, got a nice java fern for the back. See what you think.

And couldn't resist putting a new pic of my apisto on here too.
