So I have a 24x12x18 20gal and It has 3 dwarf gourami 2 fem 1 male along with some schools rasboras and Cory's. the male gourami is harassing the two females one spends most her day on the little dugout cave on the side of some driftwood. The other female still is active in swimming around the tank as the male does. I think they have parasites as I saw white stringy thing from the Anus area of the active female. I treated yesterday with prazil pro it says it cures fish of parasites and diseases caused by parasites. Treatment takes 5-7 days for end results so ill post back. Not sure what to do about the stressed female gourami. She comes out occasionally and at feeding but male harasses her the most. Haven't lost a fish yet and I've been doing this tank for two months and some of the fish are from Walmart so fingers crossed... Upgrading to a 40-80 gal not sure yet want something alittle nicer with a cabinet for a fluval canister filter.

Well, gigantic mistake #1 is buying fish from walmart.  Have you seen the conditions of their tanks?  You introduced that to yours!

As far as the white stringy thing in the anus vicinity...poop.  Sometimes it turns white when stressed or sick, I would lean towards stressed given your story, but taking walmart into consideration, I would go 50/50.

What are your water conditions?

Water conditions are perfect fish are stressed but I got a 40gal plexi off craigslist to go get after work so that will help I can isolate the two female gouramis

If they're being bullied the best thing you can do is separate them from the aggressor. Your tank is also pretty heavily stocked, depending on the exact numbers of cories and rasboras, so that may be causing some stress issues. Walmart fish can fall anywhere into the spectrum of good to bad, depending on the individual store.
I'd caution you into reading into Dwarf Gourami Disease as a precaution, as it's fairly common in DG's these days.
Oh, and don't forget to cycle the new tank!

People bash walmart but for good reasons. Honestly, its a blessing you took them out of that toxic toliet but bad news is they will restock :/. Get some quick cure by mardel it fixed my issues in 2 days flat. Just ignore the blue toliet water when you use it! Oh the irony, toliet water to clean toliet problems.

My walmart isn't as bad as most. The new tank need to be cleaned and i'm going to tank 10gallons of bacteria filled water from the 20g and 30 gallons of reverse osmosis water and start the new tank with a fresh fluval canister. i'll use some of my bio media from my current tanks in there too. It not a bad tank i got it for 45 bucks.
