My Stocking...

Heya

20gallon tank
up and running for a good 7-8 months

whats inside:

1 German Blue Ram
5 Rummy Nose tetras
1 Sterbai Corydora

if i was to do the following:

2 German blue rams
8 Rummy nose tetras
3/4/5 Sterbai corydoras
1 BN pleco

would that be okay?

its a fairly planted tank and has 2 filters in it. an UGF and the inbuilt system in the back (which is AWESOME! )

EDIT: ive also noticed, this has been the case for a good 2-3 months. The Rummy nose tetra's never swim in the middle top area in the tank, they swim really low and almost hug the glass =/ water stats are fine nothing in the tank bothers them at all. Its quite annoying as you look at the tank and you would think that there are no fish in the tank just plants lol.

i think you would have to many bottom dwellers i would have the pair of rams and 4 corys and maby a bigger middle or higher water centerpeace fish

Up the tetras, up the corries, and mabye another ram.

You could add another ram, be aware that the current one maybe aggressive towards it though, that is his tank and he wont take kindly to intruders, so if you have a male, get a female, if you already have a female, another female or male is fine.

Up the numbers of rummy's to 8 and the corydoras to 6. You might be ok with a BN, be aware they are large waste producers for their size though.

That is why I did not reccomend a bristlenose for his tank. I thought that they would produce more waste than they clean.

if you was to add another ram, like said try to get one of the opposite sex, i would suggest putting them both in a bucket / other tank for an hour or so and have a little move about in the main tank then when you put them back in they will both have to re establish a territory.
5/6 corries and 3 more tetras would be fine i think but as stated the bn's, although small do produce a large amount of waste for their size. i think it would be down to your filtration, if you think they are well in excess of what you need to filter the tank then a bn may be ok, i suppose its up to you to make the judgment.

Change the BN to one of the other 100+ species. But make sure it can tolerate the temperature of your tank.

hey guys!

I did previously have a Ram but lost it along with a few other fishes out of the norm completely along with a corydora and 2 cockatoo cichlids (the cockatoo's were being rehomed i was taking care of them for a friend )

if you take a look through my topics its been concluded my Ram is hormone bred so its hard to tell if its male or female. Although recently it looks male so i will definatly get a female german blue ram.

I used to keep a BN pleco a very small one aswell, but i still ended up cleaning algae myself, so i might cross it off the list =|

i will up the tetras and im now considering losing the corydoras completely.

what kind of algae eater could i get though for my tank?

What do you mean by hormone bred? I have never heard of this term and excited to know what it means.

That Ram looks like a Bolivian, looking at your planed stocking i would say up the Tetras to at last 10, try to get another female ram, and then either have 5 Corys or the Pleco.

Yeah it does in that pic, but in the avatar pic, it looks more german.

Bolivian rams don't have the blue marking around the face, you can clearly see his does.
