well I just got home and I oened my door to my Iridescent shark lying on the floor behind my tank. he wasn't moving so i figured he was dead for sure... so i got my net out and reached in behind my tanks and picked him up and then he started groaning and making gurglung noises so i dipped him in the water and started to massage him (to get the blood running back into his organs) thenafter a while he just casually swam away. so he want swimming sideways and crooked so I figured he was a goner and that there wasn't much I could do at this point so i just let it go, expecting i was too late..... but now 10 min later he up and about but still acting strange , like swimming more near the surface half of the tank when he usually sticks to the bottom and now quite a bit of nose rubbing..... has anyone ever seen a fish pull out of this stage??? he seems really disoriented and i think he may have messed up one of his eyes(because it appears he landed on the floor with his eye stuck to a big peice of lint....i feel horrible for him and i'm still checking on him but could this be a terminal stage of his lack of water??? keep in mind I have no idea how long he was out ..... and also he has been showing signs of improvment but i hope it won't all turn around .... Thanks alot guys

Had his slime coat dryed up alot.

you might want to put this in the emergency section, seems inportant enough to me. at least though, you should turn out the lights to kepp him at least a little less stressed. not to say you're fish WON'T make it, he might or might not I suppose, but I've had several jumpers,.... and well,...... :rip: Good luck with it though, sorry I could'nt help much

well he's swimming around the mid tank now. i think he's having trouble going under to the bottom because he swims down almost verticle and then slowly comes back to mid tank while swimming. but i guess this is better then the surface skimming he was doing initally

That's about all you can do stress coat, turn tank lights out, and maybe increase aeration for him.Good luck.

no lid, i'm using spotlights but i use a screen.... i guess that dosen't stop him coming out of the water at mach 2 though

ok i'll go turn off the lights now then

ok the lights are off, and i have a "air mist , bubble pad" running

sounds like a similar setup to mine.

i have spots on the wall with a sheet of PVC over my tank.

i jus put these glass candle holders i have on top.

there heavy enough to hold it down, see through cos there glass and dont look bad ontop of the tank!

There is also a chance he damaged his swim bladder when he hit the floor, is it a carpet, or wood the floor.

yeah that's exactally what i am thinking ...... it's hardwood floor. I guess this will take a LONG time to heal...?? he keeps getting lower and lower but not half as fast as he wants to.

well it's been a few hours now and he seems fine but he is still around mid tank.... I hope he get's back down to the bottom where he usually just lies around between the plants all day. anyone think his ability to not reach the bottom and just sit there will have any durastic effects on his health? I'm kinda worried about it but at least he's still alive! thanks again guys!

How is the shark doing.
