Finally got my tank setup something how i want it... Not neccesarily with the fish i want, but the tank setup itself looks great. Just need a blue light for the front, but that might be at the weekend. It's a Fluval Vicenza 180. Had it about 5 months now, and has had many setups as i keep altering it and changing my mind every other week. lol. Anyway, Got a hold of some rocks and got them in the tank. Decided to put my wood back in with it at the weekend and really like it. Still got to add a few more broader leaved plants yet, but thats as and when i find the right ones.

As for the fish, not entirely sure i like the setup as i have a few fish from allsorts of different places. Not exactly ideal, but if i see something i like then i buy it. I know it's not the correct way of doing it, but they all seem happy together for the time being.

Here are a couple of pictures of the tank now:

And the newest members to the tank, Jade Eyed Cichlids:

I know the pictures aren't fantastic, they're off my phone. Hopefully try and get some better ones with the digital camera soon.

Hi,

Your tank looks pretty nice firstly.

However... people get themselves into very messy situations and cause stress to fish by buying what looks nice without any knowledge of the fishes requirements, who their compatible with etc etc. It's not really fair on the fish to stock this way because some fish require different things, such as PH requirements, shoal groups etc

If you don't take into consideration such aspects of fish keeping I doubt that the fish will be as happy as they could possibly be when kept in the right conditions.

The jade eyed cichlids, I'm not sure about those and their potential to fight if they are not a pair...there are cichlids that live happily in a community setup but I cannot comment any further due to lack of experience/knowledge with this particular fish.

nice tank. forgive me if i am wrong but i dont think that the plant in the bottom left corner of the tank between the two rocks, is aquatic.

Very nice indeed! :good:

I love the rocks.

Is it not?

I have moved it around now and is now at the back. It is growing well and all the plants seem really green all of a sudden, no idea why as they normally go belly up pretty fast. I have added alot more flow to the tank now, could this be why?

Thanks for any replies. :good:

Very nice looking tank :good:

Keith.

Thanks Keith, i have entered it into TOTM for April. Not holding my breath, but if you don't enter you don't win!

You certainly don't, I think it has potential!
