Some people say yes, some people say no. I would definitely not keep mine in a community tank, as they have a reputation for nipping fins.

im cycleing the water at the mo so have no fish yet ..

but so i want

4 clown loach
1 red tailed shark
2 koli loach
zebra plec
and a puffer fish
and some sort of lobster

do you reckon that this would go so far ...

Lobster invertebrates are a food for puffers, plus, most lobster eat small fish, so sadly that setup doesn't sound like it would work to me.

Also, you realise that you are paying probably upward of £150 for a zebra plec? To keep such an expensive fish with a puffer is a quick way to lose money fast.

What size tank are you planning?

Yeah they're definitely destructive!

I'd say avoid a puffer if you're planning a 75gallon community tank. They're quite mean for their size!
