My Sajica (t-bar) Cichlid Pair

Those are some very healthie fry you got scrappy. By any chance can you tell me how much you sell them for at your local fish store. I also sell my fry when they grow big enough to my local fish store. But I get store credit only. I use it to improve my tanks even more.

Excellent clear photos. I love the shots with the baby Fry, ah ain't they cute. Will you be moving them out or letting them take their chances,.

Hah, a few questions to respond to there i think.

For RadaR:
"scrappy, what did you feed the tiny fry?"
The parents fed my fry for the first 2 months, all i did was keep feeding the normal Doromin Sticks and some Prima granules (both the Tetra brand), these were taken by the parents and they crushed them up and spat the food back out in a powdery form for the fry to feed on. I did actually buy some specialist food for fry, but I never had to use it once... Its still in the tube - lol. As the fry became larger they fed on the Prima granules and bloodworm, they are greedy things i can tell ya...

For jayjay:
I live in Telford (between Wolverhampton & Shrewsbury), I still have around 20 Sajica fry left as I took most of them to Maidenhead Aquatics last Sunday. Im left with the slightly runtier ones (nothing wrong with them but some fry are greedier than others and get larger quicker). Id be happy to let you have some if you wanted them.

For Rafael Dilone:
I dont actually sell them to the store, I know the franchise owner of the store at Mere Park (on the Stafford Rd), Ive always got discounts (or sometimes freebies) on foods, fish & the likes so I dont even ask for any money for my fry, I just like to see them breed and grow, then I pass them onto the store for the sole purpose of selling them to hopefully good homes.

For Lord Zogat:
I moved out the parents about 3 months ago, the fry (about 80 or so of them) were kept in a growing tank on their own while they grew. All the time they were growing I didnt have to remove a single dead body. Guess I was just lucky as the previous time my pair bred I only found 2 bodies.

Finally Ive decided not to breed Sajica again, I have 3 wonderful looking Severums that I wouldnt mind seeing how they get along.

Actually there are no chances to be taken since it's just the Sajica pair in the tank and a Syno catfish which doesn't seem to view the fry as food not that it has a chance to with the parents constantly on guard not letting it get too close to them.

To be honest it wasn't really my intention to breed these guys. I got a male and female and wasn't sure if they would pair up or not and then if they did I wasn't expecting fry so soon. I was actually hoping the Syno would take care of the eggs but since it's still quite small it wasn't brave enough to get near to where the Sajicas laid the eggs.

I'm just letting the parents take care of the fry (food wise) and if some survive that's ok and if they don't then that's ok too. I'm kinda tired of raising fry at the moment. I've been raising peacock gudgeon fry for months now so I kinda need a break from doing the whole baby brine shrimp and multiple feedings and multiple water changes thing.
