Hi, I'm new here (as I'm new to the hobby) but this seems like a great forum so I think I'll be coming back again and again in the near future.
Anyways, I currently have a male Sailfin Molly who I've diagnosed as having Cotton Mouth. His partner died the night before I noticed his condition, after giving birth to several fry who unfortunately were eaten before I had the chance to save them. Anyways, I immediately quarantined the male a few days ago and have been keeping him in the normal aquarium salt solution that is present in the large tank. His condition seems to me to have improved, but he still has the white stuff around his mouth so I don't dare try to reintroduce him. Today, I purchased Methylene Blue as I heard it may be an effective way to treat the fish. My question is, how long should I keep him in this solution of Methylene Blue before I change the water back to the normal water? Unfortunately, I don't have a filter with the emergency tank so there's no way the Methylene Blue will remove itself. I'd appreciate any advice on the matter. Thanks!
