My Royal Python Eating

i thought it wasn't in the nature of a royal python to eat pre killed. we were going to get one but were told bythe petshop man that we've known for years they only eat live??

He's a complete idiot I suggest you tell him that, seriously.
Royal python's can be very finicky eaters, and especially when you start of by feeding them live to thawed or visa versa.I don't think I could bare feeding a little live mouse to a royal python, i've seen it on youtube and to be frank its just wrong when you have the option to use pre-killed.

The whole royal python and eating problems stories, are becuase they were and still are wild caught and captive farmed (wild but hatched in captivity). They get used to the wild diet and when they see a dead mouse they dont understand what to do with it. Mine is a captive bred one been on pre killed since she was born, not missed one feed, (she did bite me the other day tho, held on and twisted quite a bit of blood too and shes tinY) this isnt to say they wont stop feeding tho, as with anysnake it conditions are correct they usually wont eat.
