This is pretty neat! My female Ram is sitting inside a small terra-cotta pot that is on it's side, and is cleaning it all off, while the male is out and making sure no one gets close. He has the courage to peck a Discus 4 times his size! The Discus got all annoyed and swam off to meet with the others, pretty funny. When do you guys think I will see eggs if everything goes well?

I actually just caught a glimpse of the first egg being dropped. Very cool! When should I expect wigglers, if any, this is their first attempt as being parents...

Thanks, I will try to get some pictures, but the place that they decided to spawn is pretty well hidden so it might be tricky.

Any response as to when I should see fry?

The male has taken over the parenting role, and won't let mom get anywhere near the eggs, is that okay? The eggs look pretty good too, most of them are a light brown although I see 4 or 5 white ones.

i have had my rams lay about 3 times but have had nothing thus far.they got to free swimming and there was at least 20 but all disapeared.lol.my other pair laid last night 4there 1st time and look to be in control at the moment.so figers crossed for us both.i think they turn to wrigglers after 3days.

Good luck with yours, sadly its too late for mine. I checked today and all the eggs are gone :( oh well, there is always next time :good: ...

My Bolivians spawned but my Discus ate all the eggs :( think I will have to set up a breeding tank for them so the Discus dont make the eggs dinner.

That is too bad :( .

My Rams love to spawn in very little terra cotta pots (made for cactus I believe.) These are too small for the Discus! HA! :p

Eggs will hatch in approx 72 hours. the brown eggs are the fertile ones- if they stay white they are infertile. Once they hatch the parents will often move the wigglers so watch because if they have moved them they will be guarding.
