My Pregnant Neon.

Last night I noticed that Luigi had a good sized bump on the stomach, so I got some pictures.




This morning, that bump was gone, but I'm guessing that the eggs got eaten.
So Luigi was a girl

The bump actually looked much bigger than in the picture.

Doesnt look like a egg filled female. I would say they are pretty skinny as neons go. Are your neons in a coldwater goldfish tank?

why on earth would you keep just 2 neons anyway they look very unhealthy and unhappy! very dull coloring for a neon.
i don't think they are likely to breed whilst you just have two, they are happy in large shoals and are likely to feel extremely vulnerable and unhappy.
i think its safe to say it wasn't pregnant, my girlfriend has neons much fatter than that n they only get fed about every other day!
don't neons have like a mass orgi think where the female attracts a male and normally the fittest, healthiest or strongest get to fertilize the eggs
i don't know loads about them, they don't really interest me lol

they don't look well - can you maybe rehome them until you can get them a bigger tank?! 1 gal isn't enough- and "will be moved soon enough" won't be soon enough judging by the look of those fishies

Agreed with a lot of above. fish can have fat bellies before feeding, escially if they found a piece of food somewhere

they need shoals of 6+ and warm water.

Seems like you should figure out what you are going to do with the goldfish before you set up another tank. Those goldfish really need a bigger tank man, how about a pond?

I agree with the other they don't look very healthy they are really dull and don't look to fat at all heres a couple of pics of what my neons look like.

Sorry I really suck at taking pics of fish but you can see the colouring and the shape of them.
