My Platy Is Pregnant

platyfanatic jsut get another pic and don't yell at us. We're jsut trying to help...

Thanks rabbitsrus 2006, at least somebody beleives that i can identify a platy from a molly. :good:
And mcdanielmc89 i cant get another pic as i said in a previous post, and i am starting to get a little bit annoyed yes, because how would you like it if you bought a fish and somebady who doesnt even see the fish in person calls it another for definate.
Also this topic was about my platies breeding, not whether the platy actually is a platy. :grr:

platyfanatic.....wer'e just here to give advice for what you've asked :good: your question was how long this platy was gunna be pregnant for, our answer was "its not a platy" b/c the picture isnt that of a platy, if you want to keep these 2 fish together in your tank and expect them to breed then you'll be waiting along time, if youve actually seen the male platy mate with this fish which is almost 99% sure that it will b/c they will try to mate with most things, but dont expect any fry.

personally im not gunna reply again to a thread that i know for a fact is a mollie and not a platy. As a breeder of both of these species a picture is really all i need to see to determine species.

Sorry to sound so blunt but hey ho!!!!!!!!

i would just like to say, not all platies have the same shape! i take pride in the differing shapes of my platies and have recently due to size of tank had to give away one of my platies who can i just add did not have the regular shape of a platy but was more elongated, but this did not mean he WASNT a platy, because he most definatly was and due to him i have some gorgeous fry, this is the beauty of platies, they are different just like people! they come in all shapes and sizes, gorgeous fish!!

but this did not mean he WASNT a platy
Tbh sounds like the swordtail genes in that particular fish are showing through well.
That or the fish has come from a limited gene pool ironically leading to slight variation, that is after all how you get all sorts of different shape goldfish or the like.

I would have no problem believing platyfanatic if it wasn't for the picture, which if platyfanatic is right must make the fish look completely different to what it does in real life :good: .

Yes she does look different in real life, as i said my camera is crap. -_-
And i am still saying, shes definately a platy.

It is possible that it's a variatus platy... longer body, etc, I have one and she looks SO different from my other two! But IDK, it's up to you whether it's a platy or not.

^^^ Exactly, and i know she is a platy.
By the way, can we perhaps get back to the topic now please, lol. :shout:

i thought the thread had finished since we had already answered your question about how long she had to go, but to add to the other question, you need to feed live food as well as flake to help with developing fry and keep up with your water changes

Ok then, so i now announce that this topic is officially closed.
AAAAA it will be sad to see this topic go lol.
