My planted african cichlid tank

hey everyone this is my tank its about 400litres and houses about 30 cichlids and 12-15 catfish and loaches its been running for about 8 months now and there all happy - i think as some are breeding about once a month- pitty i cant get the babies or the mothers out due to the caves and logs so most end up as prey but one has survived. have a good one.

You're lucky! My cichlids won't leave a plant in one spot for two seconds! Great tank!

Yeah. when i first set it up i went to the shop with plans to have it fully planted spent about 50$ and a week later they had all been ripped out. i still dont know how the one on the left will do as i only put it in last week but they must not like the taste of the other ones. there are 2 that must be semi aquitic as they are now growing about 20cm above the water level.

Absolutely stunning! That driftwood is amazing...I wish I could find peices that big around here.

thanks arashi, yeah the driftwood looks good i think although it was hard to fit in.

all the wood and rocks i found bush walking one day near the ocean, with a huge back pack and a friend, i had to walk up this realy steep hill and all the rocks weighed about 50 kg it was super hard.
