My Planted 60'x18'x20' And 36'x15'x18'

A few days ago a buenos airies tetra jumped out of my 3 foot tank and landed on the tile floor through a very small opening in the glass. My cat rexi was than playing with it for a few moments and i only noticed it becasue of this. I picked up the tetra and put him back in the tank. He was very stressed from the ordeal, but after several days seems to be completely fine.

Hi guys,

I thought i would update and share the latest on my tank, which has undergone considerable changes :shifty:

Well, this is the last pic taken of the tank which was in June. As well as you can see, it was severely overgrown with the fish not having any room to move.

and so i decided to rip everything up, reshuffle, gravel clean, trim etc etc. I have decided i will not have any more stemmed weedy plants as they are too messy and have ripped them all out. I will allow the val to take over, and add a couple more swordplants shortly. Anyway, enjoy

with plants growing as nicely as urs i would opt for a plain background

thanks for the comments.
initially, i didnt think about plain/no backgrounds, and then you just
couldn't see it anyway.

Well, tank is currently being 100% overhauled.

Was doing well, until got bb algae, and pretty much ruined the tank slowly.

I will hopefully post up pics soon. Stay tuned.

Heres the last pic, taken a few weeks ago. Doesnt look too bad from this distance, but believe me, black beard algae is terrible.

Over a period of 4 weeks i slowly moved the fish over to a freshly cleaned and cycled 3 foot. Yes the 3 foot is overstocked, but im running 2 filters and hopefully they will be moved back into the 5 footer in approx. 8 weeks

And here it is, freshly bleached, waiting to completely dry out and every bit of bacteria to die. I binned 95% of the plants, keeping a few small anubias that i bleached. I love fresh starts.

I loved the jungle look before you trimmed it, really liked that, shame your fish couldn't move cos it did look amazing. I do love a fresh start too tho, nothing beats starting a new tank, apart from watching it grow into something beautiful.

Excellent Tanks Mate. Really Impressed.

What Recipe do you use for your DIY CO2 and how many Bottles are you running?

love the Vallis Here :good:

thanks for the comments..

actually i was a bit hesitant before i pulled it down, its soo much work, but now just seeing the tank
just sitting there empty and ready to go is extremely inspiring and i now cant wait to get it going again.
Starting a fresh tank is just great with an unlimited wasy to decorate it etc.

Hopefully i can make it look just as good or better than it was before. I will be keeping the same theme,
with more or less the same plants or whatever will be available locally.

watch this space! i should be filling it up and starting the cycle in approx 10-11 days. AFter that it will be
another 4-6 weeks before is start moving the fish in. Hopefully be ready for TFF TOTM feb.

:shifty:

well, im just about ready to start my 5 foot tank again. Going to get some fresh gravel and substrate today.

In the meantime, i thoght i would enter my 3 foot tank in the TOTM november competition just for lols.

It utilises the simplicity approach and is very effective.

OK, its been a very busy and long day today!

I've put in the substrate, drift wood, and the water in!

I also went shopping today and bought some very nice driftwood, expensive but i think it looks really
really good!

No just have to wait for it to cycle before any fish can go in. Anyway, heres a teaser pic!

And so i've started to plant. Lots of val! I also got 3 new swordplants, though they were unnecessary
as all my old swords survived the bleaching process and after initially dropping all their leaves, started
to regrow really well. (I left them in a bucket for over a month outside and as i was about to toss them out
upon closer inspection they came realy really well after initially rotting.). So i have about 15 swordplants.

Not running any CO2 yet. Anyway, here's a pic:
