   , i was in bed the other night watching t.v at about 3.30am ish, when my parrot started going mad, flapping and screaching, i thought she'd just fallen off her swing again!, but it continued for longer than normal, so went to investigate, only to find her looking at mr bluethroat on the floor      , i put him back in the tank, and he seemed a little slow and shocked but is now ok! :D , now im really gonna have to get some sort of cover on it now!. I was getting some glass to put on, but keep getting let down by a local bloke, went out the other day to get some eggcrate but nowhere had any!, what is best glass or eggcrate???, i can see pros and cons for both, ie, glass heating probs, egg - reduce the light unless its only on at nighttime?? ideas!?

THE HERO - Tallulah

Yep, as i mentioned in another post.. lovely fish but they like to carpet swim

any ideas on the type of cover i should use then?, im using a makeshift cover at the mo, but i dont want to risk it again, now im back at work i should be asleep at that time if it did happen again, i may not hear her :byebye: :byebye:

if it did happen again, i may not hear her

Um its a "he" ;)

Anyway...

I guess you could use eggcrate when you are not at home. This will allow the light to penetrate down through it to the corals below. Then when you are at home and can monitor the tank you can take the cover off and allow more air to pass ofer the water.?

I think he was referring to the parrot when he said he might not hear her.

u guys who have saltwater tanks....I envy you guys

gorgeous fish and very nice parrot. :kewlpics:

always wanted to have a parrot.... :hyper:

definatley eggcrate. Allows more gas exchange. May want to find some way to keep it down though. Maybe a brick on one of the corners?

  , yes i was refering to the parrot! :D

cheers all, the fish is very nice  , tallulah is my baby    , she's just turned two, but she is FAR too clever for her own good!, she's got a good vocab already, and she could whistle the great escape before she was 6 mths!!

The computer isnt bad, was good when i built it, but now Hmmm, has athlon 2800 cpu, 360gig h/d, asus mb, 1.5gig ddr ram, 7.1 soundcard, ect.....
Xbox's are brill, its just the lack of really decent games you can get, unlike PS2 games, but it is chipped ;) , also have a gamecube aswell, but only got that for zelda really.

whqat did u decide on for the cover. My friend has a light strip with the eggcrate in front of and in back of it. Its perfect

i used eggcrate in the end, was an emergency really, the bluethroat jumped out again, so went to a lfs and got some, it hardly affects the light, and still allows evaporation, so was the best choice imho.
