I just have a typical blood parrot fish, like the one pictured in the stickied thread. I've had him for about 3 years and he doesn't seem to be growing at all. I've been feeding him TetraColor Tropical Flakes (Natural Color Enhancer) and occassionally bloodworms. He's in a 44 gallon corner tank with 3 other fish: an electric yellow cichlid, a pictus catfish and a kissing gourami.

Should I do anything different food-wise or is he just in too small a tank?

Yep Get Some Cichlid Pellets - They Love em.

how is your water parameter and how old is the fish when you got him/her?

blood parrots will eat anything especially if you keep them in community. But the best diet for them is just different assortments of food.

sometimes when you look at a fish everyday, would do not notice the change in size.
