hello everybody just wanted to ask some questions regarding parrot cichlids.
firstly is my pH,and water stats all right?!?!?! as i figured if they bred by themselves, the stats must be excellent...and another thing.i dont have a test kit!!!i didnt know you need one before now ive ordered it but itll take it 4-8 weeks to come to pakistan!!...yikes.
i was quite unhappy with my tank as i posted a picture of my internal filter and got remarks like ,"looks like its too small for a 45 gallon aquarium"
so i thought my fish must be stressed because my filter is too small and there could be ammonia or nitrite in the tank!
does this spawn prove that my water stats are perfect and i can wait for y test kits with a calm mind?
and my mom is gonna buy me a 33 gallon aquarium i suppos i could raise the fry in there but that'll happen next month!i dont have any time and my parrots are only 3 inches i didnt think they were adults are they stunted or something?
i was gonna rehome the cichlids as i wanted more fish! what should i do and is my filtration fine???
are parrot cichlids mouth brooders?
and what filter would be perfect for a 33 gallon tank(not too expensive)

If they are blood parrots then it is highly unlikely anything will come of it, Males are generally infertile and therefore the eggs will not be fertilised and will eventually fungus, or get eaten by the parents.

Also just because they are breeding it doens't mean that the water is perfect, I mean i can't see it being awful but it could still be not quite right. 45G is really a little too small for two blood parrots and with only an internal filter it would be reasonable to assume that the water stats wouldn't be perfect

I agree with Davo. But if they are only 3 inches at the mo, then there is no reason an internal filter wouldn't be able to cope with their waste for the time being.
It's more likely that your tank stats will be 'ok' but as the fish grow eventually the filter will reach it's maximum biological waste load and then you will start seeing ammonia levels creep up.

As Davo says, most (not all) male parrots are infertile (no bad thing imo) I think that whilst small like yours are, their filtration is probably just about ok. But the time will come where you will probably have to upgrade your tank and definitely your filtration. Also Parrots are not mouth brooders.

thank you thak you thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i am gonna rehome every fish and gonna buy an aquaclear 110 (500gph)for the tank in december.im gonna keep 14 zebra danios and 4 BN plecos with the existing filter and gonna add 2 german blue rams,4 angelfish after the aquaclear is completely cycled.AND gonna buy a tank next month for german blue rams. do i have to care for the rams like discus? and have the same pH(6.5-7)?and how many german rams can i keep in a 33 gallon and what tankmates would ya'll suggest for the rams to be kept in a 33 heavily planted low tech planted tank?
