Well I just put all my larger cichlids together in the 100 gal. The tank is ok for now because all fish are still young. But this set up will in no way work for the long term.

1 true parrot 5"
1 red severum 3"
1 green severum 5"
1 ebjd 4"
2 uaru 5.5"
1 blue acara 4"
3 pictus cats 4"

yup the tank is full and more fun to watch. Now with the added cichlids my uaru are out more. They are all getting a long pretty well because there are good amount of them so aggresstion is spred out more. I think this set up could work for 6 months before I need to get a larger tank or sell some fish.

How long do you think I have?

It's so funny how the new guys stay on one side of the tank together and the others stay on their side.

You never know it could work out long term, would need higher maintenance extra filtration etc. One of my tanks is overstocked and I have less problems in that tank than all the others!

I like the way you think ;) yeah only time will tell I guess.

It's hard to tell I think. Might work OK for quite a while. Might not. I think it would be social issues not shear size of fish that would cause any problems though.

i know what you mean about liking a tank full of cichlids though. Just before my new 130 gallon tank was delivered, I had my 80 gallon stuffed full of fish, ready to spread out between the 80 and the 130 (once it was set up). It looked superb !!

To be honest, minus the Uaru I would consider that a pretty nice stock for a 100 gallons :)

Thanks. I found my uaru good homes but I would have to ship them. I'm considering doing it too. Because I can't find them the right home aroud here. A guy with 2 6" oscars in a 140 gal tank said he would take them. But I don't want them to get HITH again and I don't know this guy. But someone on another forum has 2 uaru in a 180 gal and said he would take mine but live in WA that's a 12 hr drive.
