My Oscars Like Beef

i read onec of a guy onley feeding hes discus with beef so the other day i tride it with my oscar and the loved it is this safe and what els can i feed them

Basically no, they cannot break it down properly, feed a quality pellet like hiraki, frozen prawns / bloodworm / deshelled pea's once or twice aweek, helps with digestion

Seeing as beefheart is one of the traditional old school conditioning foods this isn't too far fetched. Generally lfs beefheart is junk, too much fat and connecting tissue left in. A good homemade beefheart mix is really lean, with other fish based supplements as well as vitamins mixed in. This may be the beef that you read about.

I'm sure an oscar would eat beef, as mentioned it would be really tough to digest unless prepared properly. This would probably mean using a cut similar to beefheart, and prepared much in the same manner. I would stick to a quality pellet as a main part of the diet, supplemented on occasion with a frozen food designed for fish.

Agreed, some people actually feed dog and cat food, this will result in fatality in the end as there liver will not cope,
Don't feed your fish on bacon, steak, or any meat that contains lots of fat. I would strongly advise you prepare Beef heart at home, contains virtually no fat at all. Doing this means that you know exactly what is going into your recipe. You can introduce extra vitamins into your Oscars diet by soaking bloodworm in liquid vitamins.
Alternatively, you could always ask your fish shop if they sell live river shrimp, your Oscar will go mad for these. They are also very healthy and good for your Oscar..

But noways having all these pellets prepared correctly id stick to that

I like to take children's liquid vitamins found at any drug store & soak some pellets in a few drops. I do this every week or so, cheap insurance.

Probably just me, but I just returned from a swap meet after eating a huge beef sandwich on the way home. Somehow I'm visualizing sitting next to my oscar tank sharing with my dogs & oscar. Hope the fish likes mozzarella & hot giardiniera! Sorry, long day, I'm really hoping this isn't the case!
