Here's Snuffy!!
I think I am becoming obsessed with snails! My mother just told me she is thinking of getting me a snail for Mother's day! LOL
The second pic is of Gary, my first snail, with Red, my Shubunkin, in the background..

You wouldn't think so, but they do get up to some interesting antics - like climbing to the tip of a plant and sailing down to the substrate. silly snails

not once in my whole fish keeping life have i considered keeping snails.
what are they like?
do apple snail eat plants?
do they try to escape from the tank?
can they be kept with kribs?

LOL! That is so true! The other day, Gary was at the very top of one of the ornaments in my tank. And he is getting pretty big so it looked really cool seeing him on the tiny top.. Was the funniest thing to watch.
They are really neat to watch and their speed amazes me! I always assumed they were super slow but they can actually move pretty quickly..

I love my snails! They are so much fun to watch! I have quite a few plants in my tank now (as I have also become obessed with plants in my tank. I swear every time I leave my house I come home with more plants for my tank! lol) and, so far, my snails haven't hurt any of them.

I know there are breeds of snails that do eat your plants tho. I believe mine are Apple Snails P. bridgesii

I am not sure what kinds of fish they can be kept with but if you are thinking of getting one, I found this website hugely helpful for me: http/www.applesnail.net/
