thanks for looking

Oh wow, they are amazing!
What is the difference between altums and regular Angels? Is it just where they came from?

They're a slightly different species TT. We're used to seeing P. Scalare, not altum. There are a few subspecies in the group like altums and leopoldi, altums are my favourites, but scalare are the hardiest and most readily available.

Oh, and indeed, those are lovely fish glendale, thanks for sharing.

Wow. Those are definitely on my to-keep list.. beautiful.

wow these all look stunning :) can i ask how many you got in there and what tanks size is it? love the look of what you done in there :) congrats

I am warming more to angels as I'm seeing some fabulous pics as of late from members on here - they wouldn't fit with my current stocking though.

Great pics, enjoy :D

Not normally a big fan of Angel fish but your pictures are simply stunning, glendale!

TT - I think the front one is a different species

Very nice, I've not kept Angels for years but have always had a soft spot for them.

In the wild, angels and discus normally live together. Smaller groups of angels live within much larger discus groups. The one exception to this are Altums. The reason is that where the Altums live, there are no discus. If memory serves me this info came via Heiko Bleher.

glendale- there is an excellent wild angel site you might want to join if you have not already done so.They have some world renown experts on wilds there, including folks who actually lived there and collected them. I have learned an amazing amount there. One must join to read the forums or to post, but much of the other information is public.

And enjoy your new fish, once bitten by the Altum bug, its hard to get them out of your system.
