Gouramis will be fine with most fish. Dwarf gouramis can have a problem with a virus but most other gouramis are fine.

yea i have heard a lot of this dwarf gourami virus thingy, never around my area tho, but be aware of it. Try an opaline or two (NVR 2 MALES) or a male dwarf and 2-3 females? Highly disrecomment the clown loaches.. research them,, google it up like crazy, they get big. I was devistated to findd out their size cuz i wanted one BAD. but i withheald.

clown loaches are a slow growing fish and many people keep them while they are small and move them into bigger tanks when they are older and bigger.

yea if your plans are to upgrade once they become bigger (and i have heard they grow fast at first, THEN they become slow growing fish, shouldnt be a problem in ur tank for a bit tho), then go for it. If this is ur max tank size then i wouldnt suggest it. also jsut to add on, yes gouramis are compatible in there. consider a severum? i LOVE mine, great fish. any other thoughts on htat idea?
